Have to work and wear more makeup....just want to be sure everything is clean! How do you clean make up brushes for eyeshadow, blush, etc? Thanks!?
I place all of my makeup brushes in a container with antibacterial soap swish them and change the water a few times, once they are clean, I rinse them thoroughly and place them on a clean paper towel on a rack and air dry them. I try to do this every other day.How do you clean make up brushes for eyeshadow, blush, etc? Thanks!?
for a cheap and effective way to clean make up brushes, i use Johnson's head-to-toe baby wash. its very mild and it smells clean and it does clean nicely. its so mild that it will not ruin your brushes.
If you have high quality brushes, you may want to use a brush cleanser that is specifically designed to clean, disinfect and condition your brushes.
Personally, I use MAC brush cleanser even though all of my brushes aren't MAC brushes.
id say use water and but just dip it..take out get the excess of...dip it again and take teh excess water off and keep doing it until the excess water is clean

they forgot to mention you should reshape the bristles before leaving them to dry, though.
Q tips are really perfect for putting on eyeshadow , then you can just throw them away
You can just wipe them off or kind of brush them on a paper towel, or not clean them at all if your the only one using them. Make up remover liquid works too. Good luck
I gently wash in warm (not hot) water my brushes with diluted shampoo
I rinse them very well, but again gently
blot in a towel
reshape them and lay in the sun on the windowsill to air day
You can use a drop of antibacterial soap in a sink with warm water, swish, and rinse well.
I use the liquid soap that I use to wash my hands. Wash well, and then use a little hair conditioner to keep the bristles soft and untangled. Squeeze dry with a towel, and then lay out to dry overnight.
i use johnsons baby soap with water to wash them.
Use Shampoo in the sink swish wash and dry overnight. Or I also put in the dishwasher in utensil area. Only advise that for brushes not sponge like things.
Johnson Baby Shampoo
I suggest getting an unscented bar of soap (Ex Ivory) and washing with that under warm water. Rinse well. You can pat them dry, but I recommend standing them up in a glass or something so that they keep their shape when they dry. If you want to dissinfect them, put rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle and spray them, then rub them down on paper towel. If you don't have time to wait for your brushes to dry from washing them, just do the second thing I mentioned with the rubbing alcohol. Rubbing alcohol dries fast, dissinfects, and also gets the makeup out of the brushes.
There is usually cleaner sold at little shops or salons that work great! Mine came is a quirt bottle and then just wipe off with bathroom tissue.

Can i apply blush with a kabuki?which brush is better?
it really depends on your facial structure, and the shape you are trying to achieve. i find that if you have small cheeks, and they are barely noticeable when you smile, kabuki brushes are just the thing you need. i have cheeks like that, and putting on a little blush on the apples of my cheeks makes them really stand out. i also blend it upwards too, because it looks wierd if you dont. but if you have bigger cheeks, like vanessa hudjens, then use a normal blush brush. you probably dont need blush, unless you need to add more color to your face. Can i apply blush with a kabuki?which brush is better?
kabuki brushes are not only cute, but they also dispense and spread the right amount of blush, foundation, ect. with flawless, natural, even coverage, i reccomend the kabuki brushes by M.A.C cosmetics, they have great cosmetics over all, and their kabuki brush is excellent. hope this helps=]Can i apply blush with a kabuki?which brush is better?

this is the blusher brush of the year!! I just bought it recently and its amazing!!! Kabuki brush is more more concentrated colour!! best used for foundation or powders, so I'd say invest in a brush which is for the purpose of a blush!! u can can softer ones or angles ones for different looks! Maybe when u go buy one, ask in the store and they will be able to tell you for what look you are trying to pull off hun :)
This is just my opinion, but i find kabuki brushes are too wide and big.
I would go with just a regular blush brush.
:) xx

Which MAC brush is best for blushes? And which brush is best for the application of pigment eye shadows?
I am buying some new MAC brushes to go along with my MAC pigment eye shadows and blushes and want to know the best choices!!!!!Which MAC brush is best for blushes? And which brush is best for the application of pigment eye shadows?
I would use either the 182 or the 150 for blush, the 182 for blending blushes or if you prefer a fuller blush and the 150 for a more contoured finish.
For pigments i like to use a tapered brush, a 222,224 or 225 would be best.
Good luck and i hope this helps.Which MAC brush is best for blushes? And which brush is best for the application of pigment eye shadows?
i like to use the 187 brush to apply blush, it distributes the color really easily and it blend really well. I love that brush, I use it for applying my foundation(it gives a nice airbrushed look) my blush, my highlight colour, and sometimes even for contouring. it's definitely worth buying because it's so multifunctional and it works really well.
for applying pigments I like to use the 239 brush, as it places the colour really nicely. my favorite brush for blending pigments is the 222
hope this helps!
187 or 188 for blush definitely. For pigments i'd go with a 252 or 242. The 219 is also a must have!!!
BOBBI BROWN brushes, are best sellers, and award winners, they are so popular.

Yes it can, it will help blend everything, so you don't have any harsh lines. Another great thing about this brush is you can use it to apply foundation. It helps buff it in for full coverage. Try it.Can this brush also be used for blush?
it could be but a smaller brush that fits on your apple of your cheek would be best. a kabuki is usually used to buff out powder on your face or to blend in everything afterwords. just remember that if you use this for blush you prob don't want to use it anything else because and remaining pinkish pigment would be spread all over your face. kabukis also might pick up a little bit more product than you want for a blush
Yes, that's exactly what it's for!
You should have a separate brush for each make up item though, e.g. one blusher brush, one powder brush, one bronzer brush.
of course. its always good to have a big brush to use for blush. just sweep the blush on your cheeks while smiling.

IHow do you use bronzer, the kind with the brush. I usually use a liquid foundation and blush. Does bronzer?
take the place of the blush and do I put it in basically same area or more all across the face. Also if I use a powder finish do I put it before or after the bronzer.IHow do you use bronzer, the kind with the brush. I usually use a liquid foundation and blush. Does bronzer?
Yes, basically bronzer is applied in the general areas a blush is applied, but the two are different. You can put bronzer and blush on together (if you wish). Bronzer can be applied so that it acts as natural shadows on your face- you can put it on your forehead, the bridge of your nose, the apples of your cheeks (or just underneath the cheekbone, with blush on top of the cheekbone- just make sure you blend well), and very slightly on the swell of your chin. Apply your powder before bronzer to set your foundation. Hope this helps :)IHow do you use bronzer, the kind with the brush. I usually use a liquid foundation and blush. Does bronzer?
Bronzer powder is great for an overall natural glow. Look for one that has a little bit of fine sparkle for an extra glow for your skin, and a little darker than you normal skin tone.
It does not take the place of blush usually. You can mix blush with your bronzer on you apples of your cheeks, but use just bronzer under your cheekbones.
You will want to use a brush specifically for bronzer, which is like a blush brush but more bristles. Starting just below the cheekbones, put a light layer of bronzer in the hollows. Do the same on the other side. Put a little on th of the forehead-hair line for a sun-kissed look, and a little under each jawbone, softening at the chin to define your face.
Bronzer powder is great for dusting on the base of your neck and anywhere else you want an extra little glow on the skin. I put bronzer on after the foundation, but before powder, so the powder can 'set' everything and it lasts longer.
in my opiniun bronzer looks best right under th cheak bones it makes them stand out then just blush on top and ur good
before you put on the bronzer, it has to bond and stick to something and it won't do that if you're just going to put it on your face.
use a tinted mosturizer. i like Estee Lauder's Day Wear Plus, it mosturizes your skin and protects it from the sun as well and gives you some color but not too much.
once you put on the tinted mosturizer, than you apply the bronzer by using the brush. use it along the contours of your face, underneath the apples of your cheeks. then, you brush some of the bronzer on your chin, the bridge of your nose and your forehead to highlight these areas.
with bronzer, yOU CAN'T REALLY MESS UP. it's just going to give you a beautiful glow all around =)
after the powder put bronzer across forehead,on cheekbones ,and on chin, down nose.

Applying blush with a wet brush.?
I have some blush that's a really pretty color but it won't showup! I know that when you apply eyeshadow with a wet brush it shows up better and is darker so can I do the same thing with my blush? It's a loose powder btw.Applying blush with a wet brush.?
hmmm...I am not so sure...I think it may be difficult to blend the blusher out ..... try building up the colour xxApplying blush with a wet brush.?
i would imagine so but spray it with like a hairspray bottle filled with water so its light moisture.

What type of blush brush is best?
I've seen at least 3 different ones..
this one is tapered for the checkbone i think:
http://www.benefitcosmetics.co.uk/gp/pro鈥?/a>
and theres this one ';classic'; or the one that i always see:
http://www.maccosmetics.co.uk/templates/鈥?/a>
or theres one that is like a fluff brush - kind of big and fluffy lol that sounds dumb but its hard to describe... so what is the best one? or are they all used for different types of aplications? Im a bit confused on what to buy! What type of blush brush is best?
a bigger brush is best because it covers a bigger area and doesnt require as much spreading and stirring until the skin absorbs the excess one like this :

I sell both Avon and MK and each one sells awesome brush sets. I just love them. You honestly really do have to have the right brush in order for your make up to go on right. I'm glad you seem to know that!
I ship to all my out of state/town customers for free and always send extras so check out my websites!

well i would like to know too! lol. but i do know that the bigger the brush the more natural %26amp; layer-able application you get because it's not so concentrated in one small area like paint.
i lovve the bare escentuals angled face brush, it really highlights your cheekbones.

Would my blush brush be....?
Would my blush brush get ruined if i used it for foundation?Would my blush brush be....?
It really depends on the brush ur using and the foundation. If it's powder ur fine, just brush it off after, but if it's liquid just use a sponge, works great, :)
mine?
http://cozywallet.com/wp-content/uploads鈥?/a>Would my blush brush be....?
No, silly :)
Just clean it with a gentle cleanser and let it air dry.
Blush brushes tend to be spacier though, you'll need a more dense soft brush for foundation.
I like Kabuki brushes for foundation. I have used a blush brush for foundation before though, it does suffice if you don't have a more suitable brush.
Good luck and hope my answer helps!
As long as you wash it after each us it would be fine. You can even spot clean it and use it for both foundation and blush. Just put a small amount of brush cleanser (any brand you use) on a folded paper towel and swipe it back and forth on it until most of the product is out. It will not be wet and you can use it for blush.
Remember to wash it with baby shampoo daily or every other day so no bacteria builds up in it, you don't want break outs from dirty brushes.
absouletly not, in fact after i apply my blush sometimes it looks to harsh so i usually go in with the same brush and apply foundation to help soften it a bit :]
Most likely, no. It will be fine as long as you soak and wash it after you use it with your blush. Soak in warm water.

I would say not, because the bag is only $5.95, and a brush like that alone is usually double that price at the cheapest.

A good blush brush?
i want a good blush brush that is under 拢15. i was looking at the body shop's blush brush, but was wondering if it was any good. or maybe clinique's blush brush. does anyone have any suggestions?A good blush brush?
any soft large brush will do for blusher. you can get a whole makeup brush set off of ebay for 拢10 which has everything you will need and is good quality it contains about 20 brushes from china ( hence the price) and it beats paying over the odds for 1 brush over here!
if you really want one from here then estee lauder or MAC is best followed by body shop brushes.
i own my own beauty therapy business and find the brushes i bought new off of ebay to be fine for what i need so they should be fine for doing your own make up too :)A good blush brush?
Mac brushes are great and all but as you may know pretty expensive. I used avon brushes. This one's great: http://shop.avon.com/shopb/product.asp?pf_id=9071%26amp;from=search%26amp;find_spec=blush%20brush%26amp;camp=200813%26amp;dir_delivery=1%26amp;rep_delivery=1.
Another great place to look for brushes is drugstores like Cvs and Walgreens.
You could probably use a Kabuki Brush for blusher. It can also be used for poder foundation aswell. I do not have one myself but I have seen loads of reviews on that saying that they are really good.
Hope this helps.

i have a ruby and millies blush brush which is really nice. its soft and strong!!! i am irish so it mightnt be available if you dont live here!

any soft large brush will do for blusher. you can get a whole makeup brush set off of ebay for 拢10 which has everything you will need and is good quality it contains about 20 brushes from china ( hence the price) and it beats paying over the odds for 1 brush over here!
if you really want one from here then estee lauder or MAC is best followed by body shop brushes.
i own my own beauty therapy business and find the brushes i bought new off of ebay to be fine for what i need so they should be fine for doing your own make up too :)A good blush brush?
Mac brushes are great and all but as you may know pretty expensive. I used avon brushes. This one's great: http://shop.avon.com/shopb/product.asp?pf_id=9071%26amp;from=search%26amp;find_spec=blush%20brush%26amp;camp=200813%26amp;dir_delivery=1%26amp;rep_delivery=1.

You could probably use a Kabuki Brush for blusher. It can also be used for poder foundation aswell. I do not have one myself but I have seen loads of reviews on that saying that they are really good.
Hope this helps.

Which is a better blush brush? MAC's 116 Blush Brush or Mac's 129 Powder/Blush Brush?
HELP ME PLEASE!!!
I can only get one of the blush brushes. I'm going to use it with Mac's blush. Which one would you recommend?
BEST ANSWER - 10 POINTS !Which is a better blush brush? MAC's 116 Blush Brush or Mac's 129 Powder/Blush Brush?
I'd probably go with the 116. It's a little shorter and rounder than the 129 which makes application easier. It's going to also make the color of your blush a little more vibrant, brightening up your face. They're basically the same brush, but like I said the 116 is a little shorter and fatter than the 129. Plus, it's a couple dollars less.

Does it come with a blush brush too?
hey i was wondering if this coastal scents make up bag came with a blush brush too??
it has it in the pic but doesnt say anything about it...
here is the link http://www.coastalscents.com/cfwebstore/鈥?/a>Does it come with a blush brush too?
';Another arrival by customer demand, a Black Zipper Kabuki Bag. At 4 inches in length this will hold any kabuki you many have in your collection. (Kabuki Brush is sold separate and is not included)';
Kabuki Brush is sold separate and is not included. It's right there in the description. It's not a blush brush.Does it come with a blush brush too?
I would say not, because the bag is only $5.95, and a brush like that alone is usually double that price at the cheapest.

Victoria's secret blush brush is made what hair? ?
hi. i know it is made from natural imported hair, i read this from some website. but what hair is it? human hair or animal hair?
if it is animal hair, do u know which animal?
hope u guys can clarify this for me.
thanks!!Victoria's secret blush brush is made what hair? ?
I did some quick Google research and couldn't find out exactly what it was, although people who reviewed it seemed to think it was real hair from SOME kind of animal (human hair is illegal, I believe ... and even if it's not illegal, it's disgusting! lol).
If you're looking for something that's all natural or organic and DOESN'T have animal hair in it, e-mail me through my profile page and let me know! All my make-up and beauty care is ';cruelty-free,'; so it has no animal ingredients and wasn't tested on animals. I can definitely hook you up with some info about cheap, great quality brushes, etc.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help! See ya!

Can u tell me of a BLUSH that comes in a Compact with Brush?
I am looking for a small blush compact that will fit in my handbag. It must include blush and a small brush. My friend says that Bourjois do one. Do you know of any others? Thanks honeeyss...Can u tell me of a BLUSH that comes in a Compact with Brush?
i'm using Revlon blush. there's a small brush inside it. plus a pop-up mirror too! :)Can u tell me of a BLUSH that comes in a Compact with Brush?
Just go for anything in the drugstore, like Maybelline and Revlon. But it's still better to use a proper brush.
I use the boujour one..but i also use Maybelline..
The boujour is good if you know what your doing with the little brush because if you go wrong you could look like a clown..
Ha ha so there are some new ones from rimmel london as well ,my sister uses that and she says the brush is easy to use.
Usually all of the mainstream lines of makeup at any retail or drug store will have brushes with them .... sometimes you can even get a mirror with the off brand play makeup but I wont usually wear those ...
try covergirl, always been a fan of them ... great products easy to clean off!

did they have to hurt it? its made from sephora.I got a new blush brush that is made of animal tail.?
Sephora actually doesn't promote animal cruelity. But to be safe I wouldn't buy it again. Whether or not it ';hurt'; the animal, I'm sure it sits in a little cage all day, which no animal should. Next time before you buy a product find out what its made ofI got a new blush brush that is made of animal tail.?
animal abuse!
No, it was probablly already dead.. Or it is just trimmed, from live animals.
I would contact Sephora or go to local sephora shops, and ask a worker.
yes i dont like you for using it

Can i use a new makeup blush brush for shimmer dust on the cake?
--i am planning to make a cake and i am planning to use shimmer dust on my cake http://www.wilton.com/images/decorating/鈥?/a>
..but what is a good brush to use it on. it won't be on one spot but will be spread out that way the cake looks sparkle all around. Can i use a new makeup blush brush for shimmer dust on the cake?
A new unused make up brush is perfectly fine!
a large blusher brush seems ideal.
Otherwise, a pastry brush can also be used, however, I wouldn't recommend this as the bristles are much firmer, therefore I don't think it'll give quite as even a spread.
Artist's brushes are very good to use, as you can ensure an even spread, and use a variety of brush sizes so the dust is spread to specifically how you want it, without ruining the icing / topping on the cake.
Airbrushing the dust onto the cake is another alternative that ensures an even finish, or a finish that is specific to your requirements.
However, I'm not sure how easy it is, or expensive it is, to get hold of the equipment. Can i use a new makeup blush brush for shimmer dust on the cake?
The makeup brush will do just fine,a new basting brush would work also.Be frugal and use what you have and save your money on all those fancy do nothing gadgets.

Is this angle blush brush good for face contouring?
http://www.coastalscents.com/cfwebstore/鈥?/a>Is this angle blush brush good for face contouring?
Wow, thank you MAC Addict (girl above me) That is actually my video on youtube. I must say coastal scents does have decent brushes but I would look elsewhere. That's just me though lol
You can also buy all the same brushes they have and more on CrownBrush.com The only thing is you have to have a minimum order of 25$ but trust me you will find a heck of a lot of brushes for 25$ So it's totally worth it. :D I would recommend looking up a picture of the MAC 168 and just look around for something that looks like that. About the same shape and size, that brush gives a great contouring effect and it's not too big. :DIs this angle blush brush good for face contouring?
I agree with Jess. You should probably go a bit smaller with the brush, you don't really need a big brush for contouring, you just need any small-ish angled brush.
I also agree that Coastal Scents is overpriced. Their products may seem good, but if you know the truth about their stuff, you might think differently, I recommend you watch this video:

Its a good brush for contouring cheek bones ...so I guess that would be a yes . Thanks for listing that site. I just might have to get that brush set . It looks like a decent one. :)
i think i would go a little smaller.... a contouring brush should be just a little thicker than a woman's thumb.
P.S. Coastal scents is expensive... get the EXACT same thing cheaper on ebay!myspace ip

Need help on what brush to use for powder blush?
hey girls, makeup users!
just wanna ask which brush is the best for powder blush?
a KABUKI brush? or a BLUSH BRUSH.
and whats the difference?
thanks!Need help on what brush to use for powder blush?
a kabuki might is fine if your experienced but if you are just a beginner use a blush brush b/c you can really over do it with a kabuki brush
on the other hand a kabuki is versatile it is a really good blending brush and powder foundation brushNeed help on what brush to use for powder blush?
Well, they would both work pretty well. The kabuki brush might be a bit easier to blend the color out though. The only real difference is that one has a short handle and one is long, and they have different densities. If you want my opinion though, I would get a normal powder brush. It has a long handle like a blush brush, but it's denser like a kabuki. So go with either a kabuki or normal powder brush ;]
a kabuki brush is more for all over powder, id recommend an actual blush brush. the difference is that a kabuki's handle is very small if it even has any, besides that the hairs are packed very tightly and its a lot bigger.
a blush brush is smaller, cuz u dont want to have blush all over the sides of ur faces. besides that the hairs arent packed as tightly, which allows for easier blending. furthermore, a blush brush would usually have a long handle.
kabuki!

When should i get a new blush brush?
I have had my brush for a while now and i always clean it with baby shampoo and warm water and everything always appears to be fine but recently i have been getting little red marks on my cheats and just on my cheeks... i am not digging the way this looks and again i always wash my brushes can it be that it is due for a new one ??When should i get a new blush brush?
Your brush may have become dulled, or you may have picked up some kind of bacteria on the brush. You could try soaking the brush for a few minutes in diluted bleach, and then wash with baby shampoo to see if that fixes it. However, your best bet is to just get a new one. Bobbi Brown makes some fantastic brushes. Use this as an excuse to treat yourself :-)
BTW, if you changed the type of blush you use, it could be the blush. If you decide to get a new brush, I'd recommend replacing your blush with a fresh one just to be safe. When should i get a new blush brush?
I get mine from walgreens or walmart. It's the Essence of Beauty blush brush. It works perfectly! And it's only a dollar or two. Good luck! :)
yeaaa , ur brush is probably dulled up noww ,
u need a new one , and dicontinue using it , just incase if anything ........
can be the blush itself.
have at least another brush for each makeup brushes you have.

What make a fiber optic blush brush so great?
nothing at all, it's just another way to get you to spend more money on another blush brush that does the same thing

i like the angled, it helps to give more defintion to me.Which is the best Bare Escentuals Blush Brush to use, an Angled Brush or a Tapered Brush?
I use the tapered brush, but it is really just a question of technique.Which is the best Bare Escentuals Blush Brush to use, an Angled Brush or a Tapered Brush?
I use my bare minerals foundation brush for the blush as well....
I like the tapered one to apply overall foundation.
BUT, I happen to LOVE my Kabuki brush. I've since stopped using B.E. but I use the kabuki brush to apply blush and I just love it. I would totally get a new one.

What's wrong with the brush that comes with blush or eyeshadow?
People always say not to use the brush that comes with some blush compact, or not to use the eyeshadow applicator that comes with the eyeshadow compact.
Why? What difference does a brush make when applying makeup? What's wrong with the brush that comes with blush or eyeshadow?
The problem with the brushes that come with most blush is that they're too small to adequately apply blush to the face. They tend to leave blush that isn't very spreadable looking streaky. A bigger, rounder brush is much better for blush application. As for the eyeshadow brush, I will sometimes use that, but it depends on where on my lid I'm actually applying the eyeshadow. (the crease, the lower lid, etc.) It also depends on the type of eyeshadow I'm using. If the eyeshadow is a wet shadow or damp, I find that the foam brush tends to absorb some of it, thus wasting it. I'll use it for powder eyeshadow sometimes though. What's wrong with the brush that comes with blush or eyeshadow?
Nothing is wrong with the brush that comes in a compact.
different brushes can make a different effect night looks? and natural loos go for the big huge ones and for shadow get the really edgy ones so you can use it as hot powder for liner if u understand me... and usually the ones that come with the make u is really crapy... and umm i would gey nyc make up and other really famous ones to be sure that there is no problem using it
and get variety of brushes for different occations so make sure u try them out!!

because girls like to have their own and not use the one that has been bought woth the eyeshadow! it might have something on it
it may be too small or the hairs it is made up is not fine enough to give a good blend of the blush powder on ur cheeks. it is good to have a bigger brush in ur cosmetics set at home. small ones can be kept for use when u need touch ups after shopping or dinner. MAC's brush is very good. The Body Shop is not bad as well.
The brushes that come with makeup often are not very good quality or are awkward to handle making it hard to use properly. Using better grade brushes helps insure proper application of your makeup. To get the best results you need good tools.
You can use custom brushes if you want that flawless appearance even though there isn't that much difference. Bacteria does gather on the brushes that come with the makeup but it's pretty harmless as long as you don't share. The brushes are fine to use. Different brushes do make a difference but not a huge one. You are safe to stick with your brush.
The sponge for eyeshadows waste to much product and dont go on as dark as using a brush
and the brush that comes with blushes are tiny and hard they scratch your face its better to buy a bigg blush brush so your blush isnt streaky from the small brush
If you are buying a cheap blush or eyeshadow you will notice that when you are applying make up the brush will start falling apart.
nothing wrong bt many people prefer to buy better durable one .
as most of the eyeshadow comes wit sponge applicator.. so far as i hv make up for yrs.. only shiseido still remain intact. the rest fall apart in 2-3yrs..
rgd blusher brush .. ppl usally do not prefer the 'come with' one coz usually they are very small .. not big enough to blend and spread evenly on the face. %26amp; some might have very very coarse hair .. which mk ppl feel......uncomfortable~!
so in concude .. i think its gd to invest in a good blusher brush and eye make up brush for gd blending!
i think there fine but they might not be as good quality and they might be small

Do you use the same brush for powder and blush?
i am going to buy some new make up brushes from MAC. Since they are kind of pricey, I wanted to know if I need a separate brush for powder and a separate one for blush?Do you use the same brush for powder and blush?
Noo, i use two separate ones because sometimes little bits of blush get stuck in the brush and it would end up mixing with your foundation. Its best to just get 2 separate ones.Do you use the same brush for powder and blush?
I don't think that's a good idea. Because when you're applying powder you may get more pink blushy tones all over if you mix the brushes often. I'd use a large kabuki for powder/mineral foundation and a medium coverage small kabuki brush for blush/bronzer
I've done it, and I ended up with blush all over my face! No matter how hard I rubbed the brush to get rid of the remnants, there was always blush left on the brush. If you really want to only use one brush, Bare Escentuals has a ';quick change'; spray for brushes, but I've never used it.
no i use different brushes....considering i use pink blush and my foundation is brown..so ummm you're going to have to purchase 2 brushes....
No. You don't want to brush pink blusher all over your face.
Forget MAC though. Totally over-priced and over-hyped.myspace ip

What's the best/softest blush brush under $20?
I'm trying to look for a good/soft BLUSH brush both angled and NOT under $20 though.
What's the best/softest blush brush under $20?
believe it or not the E.L.F. brushes are fantastic...and they're a dollar a pop. They have a great angled blush brush that is super soft and does not shed at all! It is by far my favorite brush- even better than my MAC ones. They have straight bristled ones too. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed- Their makeup is really good too, they eye shadows are really pigmented and stay on all day, and their twist up lipstick/gloss is great as well. Just go to eyeslipsface.com
For a dollar, what can you lose? I bet you will be super happy with it also. What's the best/softest blush brush under $20?

How do i clean my blush brush?
i have a mac blush brush thing that is for putting on foundation... but it looks like a regular blush brush to me. but i dont know how to clean it! please help. thanksHow do i clean my blush brush?
They sell brush cleaners for makeup brushes, but, I take some of my daughters baby shampoo just the plain normal kind fill my sink half full of hot water and make bubbles and soak them for three hours every two weeks and then use a dry washcloth to smooth the hairs back down and get the rest of the makeup outHow do i clean my blush brush?
Here's what I do: Fill the sink half way with warm water. Squeeze in some of your facial cleanser. Swish the brush around a bit, let it soak for about 10 minutes, then rinse under clean warm water. Let air dry.
Using your facial cleanser will ensure that you won't have any breakouts from other types of cleaners.
Ooh i really wanna know the answer to this, let me know when you find out
there's brush cleaners %26amp; u also can use warm water with a mild soap...like baby shampoo
I agree with Jennifer. I do that all of the time and it works great!

Is a 3.5'; wide Sonia blush brush good for applying bronzer to your face and neck?
Here's a picture http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/sr=1-13/qid=1183475484/ref=sr_1_13/601-5070352-8547334?ie=UTF8%26amp;asin=B000FYTKSE
Do you think that's too big?
What would work?Is a 3.5'; wide Sonia blush brush good for applying bronzer to your face and neck?
YES! that's perfect.
I personally use about that size but less concentrated (as in the bristles are looser and not as close together) but this will work perfectly as well.

Mac Blushes are pretty good, along with NARS blushes. I heard that the 187 Mac brush was pretty good for blush application, but it's way too expensive for me so I use one from Inglot for contouring.
Answer mine please.
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>
mark.'s Good Glowing brushes are really great. They are just $6, and you can pick out a custom snap to it pallette to stick them in as well. If you buy the medium (holds 2 blushes) or the large (holds 4 blushes) case, it comes with a brush to apply the blush. Or you can buy their Blush %26amp; Bronzer brush which is really popular for $6.
Everything from MAC is just about good, lol. Cheaper end, though, CVS's Essence of Beauty is good, along with Long's Brandon brand, both for brushes. Milani is a drugstore brand that has a very good pigment and looks great.

Hi i have a blush brush and the bristles are black eventually dye is going to come out ?
can the dye damage my skin or color stay in my skin lol i know i can be a stupid question just curious?thank you1Hi i have a blush brush and the bristles are black eventually dye is going to come out ?
If it is a good blush brush then the hairs are natural and the colour cannot come out any more than it can come out of our own hair. Most brushes are badger hair. If it is synthetic then it is nylon and again, the colour cannot come out anymore than it can a plastic hairbrush etc.
Natural brushes are better, synthetic can 'scratch' the skin.

Can you use a blush brush as a foundation brush?
i want to get this travel kit thingy and like they have 5 brushes. one of them is a blush brush and i think it's perfect for a foundation brush since i do'nt use blush. do you think it's okay? Can you use a blush brush as a foundation brush?
I'm assuming you're using a powder foundation so yes that would work; but for more coverage you should use a short bristled, tightly packed brush(called a kabuki, blunt brush, or powder buff). If it's not a powder foundation you're using you're just going to end up with a big mess. Can you use a blush brush as a foundation brush?
If the blush brush is made of synthetic bristles, it could be used for liquid foundation (Is it liq. foundation you use?). But normally you need a stiffer brush for applying foundation, blush brushes tend to be a little too soft for that. Get yourself a kabuki brush if you want a multitasker. They are densely packed brushes with just the right amount of stiffness. You can apply powder, bronzer, blush everything with it.
If it looks like a foundation brush, acts like a foundation brush and conducts itself like a foundation brush, then it is, indeed, a foundation brush.
This is not exactly an earth-shattering question, but if it is important to you, then it's important to me. You go, gal!
of course. It works and ur not going to use it anyway y not use it?
yah..thats wat i do..cuz i absolutely hate blush..
You can but i'm a makeup artist and have noticed that can cause your foundation to not be as smooth, it may look blotchy almost...just use a foundation brush, you can find them almost anywhere. CVS and other pharmacies have cheap efficient brands, if you really want a nice one I recommend getting one from Estee Lauder or Sephora.
Yea you don't have to use a kabuki it just might not come out as good. Good luck!
Definatly! Alot of my friends do that, and thier i nothing wrong with it. But, If it is a very thick bulky blush brush.. does use! You want a flatter smoother brush!
Ew no! Never!
Yup. I use an eyeshadow brush to apply lipstick and a foundation brush to apply bronzer, and my makeup looks great! Go for it! ^_^
i do think its a o k!! i use a blush brush for a foundation brush it works great i don't use blush either try it if you don't like it you can always wash it off and try a foundation brush see which one works the best for you i hope this helps you i like to try different things as long as it isnt bad for me if it doesnt work i dont use it again caring for you joycemyspace ip

will it give me less coverage than a powder brush cause i have a face that DOSE NOT NEED TOO MUCH COVERAGE THANK GOD. wondering cause i have 2 blush brushes. oh and they are from cinique are the hairs from the bushes synthetic that will scratch my face? thank youCan i use a blush brush to apply powder make up?
No, a smaller brush will concentrate the make up more and you'll end up with more on your face. I would still use a big make up brush because you'll be able to blend the powder more throughly, and you won't end up with cakey make up. Make sure you clean your brushes once a week too. Can i use a blush brush to apply powder make up?
Actually using a blush brush might apply it a bit heavier. If you go for a bigger brush, it'll actually give you a sheerer application. Try a kabuki brush or a buffer brush. Good luck!
You can use whatever you want, it wont make a difference. I use different brushes every day, whatever I grab, but brushes shouldn't scratch your face unless you are using a brillo pad :)
I use a blush brush and it works very well. I think it will work just fine and it won't scratch your face either, otherwise it would scratch your face when you put blush on.
Just use anything, as long as its not lyk, been down the loo or anyfink :P *it's not v. hygeinic XD trust me, it doesnt matter!
Hope I Helped XD

What is the best makeup brush for cream blush?
I have two MAC cream blushes and I am not sure what kind of brush to use to put them on. Can someone help? What is the best makeup brush for cream blush?
I put on cream blush with a blush brush like this.

(well, actually, not that brush, but something like that)What is the best makeup brush for cream blush?
I recently found the softest makeup brush on http://www.progressivegrocer.com/progres鈥?/a> . It is made from pure dye-free and cruelty-free toray, features a square-dome head and is vegan, vegetarian and eco-friendly.
nope ALL wrong!!
what you need is a feathering fan like this.
http://products.westglowresortandspa.com鈥?/a>
it feathers your creme blush so it doesn't look to heavy and it makes it look natural and lit from within.
just stipple it in the blush, than stipple it on your cheeks belnding in and out.
hope i helped!

A duo-fibre stippling brush (such as the MAC 187 or 188) are perfect for this; stipple the brush against the pan of cream blush, and then stipple it onto the cheek. Don't swirl! This is buildable and gives a fantastic finish.
Its best to apply it with your middle finger, and blend with your ring and pointer fingers.
Step 7
http://beauty.about.com/od/makeuptrickst鈥?/a>
put cream in your finger first and then put on your face apply by finger a little bit and then use cream blushes after. goodluck

What is the best way to clean my blush brush?
Here is how I wash my makeup brushes (which needs to be done weekly by the way):
Wet brush thoroughly. Take some liquid anti-bacterial hand soap or baby shampoo and squish it into the wet brush. You do NOT need the fancy smancy ';brush cleaner'; sprays they sell...it is a total waste of money and nothing but a gimmick. The suds are going to look NASTY! Work the soap into the brush for about a minute then rise well in warm water. Take a little more soap and work it through the brush again. Rinse really welll...then rinse AGAIN to make sure you get all the soap. Dry the brush on a towel on the edge of the sink with the head of the brush hanging OVER the edge....if you lay it flat on the counter, your brush will get deformed. Depending on how big the brush is, it should dry in about 12 hours.
Oh...and do NOT let the brush soak in water. That is one of the fastest ways to rot the brush. What is the best way to clean my blush brush?

I know how to wash it and everything, I just need to know exactly how long it will take until completely dry. Thanks!!How long does it take for a big blush brush to dry after washing it?
Use a hairdryer and aim it straight at it until it's dry.
That'll speed up the drying time. How long does it take for a big blush brush to dry after washing it?
from my experience it takes quite a while ( like 5-6 hrs) since its big and thick. um i recommend that you wash them at night that way by the morning they are already dry.

If you were to use an angled blush brush/contour brush, how would you ';blend'; the color into the face?
Because, when you use the brush, you sculpt and get color on the jaw line. How would you evenly blend that in, so it wouldn't just be a ';line'; on the side of your face lol Thanks! If you were to use an angled blush brush/contour brush, how would you ';blend'; the color into the face?
Use the full end of the blush brush when contouring, or you can explore some of the softly-shaped contour brushes, which won鈥檛 leave hard edges. Tapping off the excess powder before applying, and brushing on the color in short, quick motions going back to the ear will net the best results. Avoid contouring or shading along any portion of the jawline for daytime. Though this technique can make you look like you鈥檝e lost a few pounds, you can end up with a line of demarcation around the jaw. Do not forget to blend hard edges; contour should always look soft and as natural as possible on the face. If you applied too much color, tap the brush clean and go over the area again. If you were to use an angled blush brush/contour brush, how would you ';blend'; the color into the face?
I would just swirl the brush on my face until all the harsh lines were gone. The idea is that there should be no line between where the makeup ends and where your skin begins. Angled brushes do work well for that, and can blend as well as they can apply the product

Is it okay to use a brush blush for applying powder?
I don't own a foundation brush so i'm wondering is it okay to just use my blush brush to apply loose powder over my face?
Will it work just as good? Is it okay to use a brush blush for applying powder?
yea it is dont worry i do that from time to time go for itIs it okay to use a brush blush for applying powder?
yes it is,but it may deliver more make up to one spot. use a plain cotton ball, %26amp; easily go over your face after it. Or use a cotton ball period %26amp; then get it %26amp; pull it outwards, stretching it %26amp; just lightly go over it, removing any excess from off your face.

powder foundation brush. SINCE it's used to create a more natural and even look, it would do better at keeping cakey-ness away.Is it effective to apply powder with a blush brush or should I be using a foundation brush?

i honestly don't think it matters though.
you just need a large brush that isn't too narrow or thin.

Can I use a blush brush to apply foundation?
I have no brushes that are specifically for foundation, so I am wondering whether I could apply it using a simple blush brush. Can I use a blush brush to apply foundation?
For powder, yes.
For liquid or mousse, no. Just use your hands. Can I use a blush brush to apply foundation?
Lots of wrong answers here...You CAN definitely use a blush brush to apply liquid foundation, but you need a good quality one with minimal fallout. You should use the ';stipple and swirl-method';, where you pour a little bit of foundation on a flat surface of the back of your hand, then dip the brush in it. it's important that only the very tips of the bristles get covered with product. Then stipple it onto your skin, and then swirl to blend. If it's a low quality brush you'll have to pull hairs out, but a good blush brush should be able to handle it no problem. A tutorial on how to use a blush brush can be found at the link below. Note that the artist here uses a bigger brush, but makes it a point to say that you can use a blush brush. The video is really a comparison between 2 methods, but you'll get the idea.
I'm not sure that its so good to use your hands while applying foundation due to bacteria that can cause you to break out. Sponges work well... But from PERSONAL experience, I don't even like using brushes to apply foundation. It makes your foundation look really streaky, and since you have to blend it out with a sponge anyway, you might as well just apply it with a sponge in the first place.
You absolutely can, but it needs to be a good quality blush brush with soft bristles, and a full, rounded head. If the head isn't firm enough, then the application will be streaky. Don't forget to wash it after every use, bacteria love moisture, and leave it flat to dry.
only if its a powdered foundation
but if its liquid its probably like impossible
only if its power. otherwise it clumps.

How do i remove odor from my blush brush?
my dog got a hold of my brush so when i washed it it had a gross odor! how do i take it off? its a good brush! How do i remove odor from my blush brush?
I have a lot of high-end make-up brushes and what I've found that works best without costing an arm and a leg is J%26amp;J Baby Shampoo. I place a small amount in a small bowl, add water, and swish my brushes around until there is a lather, then run the bristles across the rim to help push out any deep down color.
Then rinse with tepid water until the water runs clear. Repeat if necessary. Lay it flat to dry

What does your dog lick, besides your face? yeah, his butt. So picture this: re-using that brush would be like smearing blush on your dog's backside and having him fart in your face-EEW! Replace the brush ASAP! there are so many germs that are embedded in it that human's can get extremely sick from, and I don't think that you want to be rubbing them all over your face, do you?

but i find the kabuki to be the best for mineral foundations, it buffs on and looks smoother and less flakey. What is the difference between a fat blush brush and a mineral foundation brush-can I use a blush brush for?
The mineral brushes that I've seen are dense and cover a large area when applying. I like to use blush brushes that are smaller and angled. They give better control so there isn't one big deposit of colour on the cheek.
You can use a blush brush for mineral foundation but I wouldn't use a mineral foundation brush for applying blush.
I would get a mineral brush if that's the product you're using as it holds the mineral makeup much better.
A flat brush will give you the best coverage while applying mineral foundation. An application brush gives you more of a medium coverage. I guess you could use a blush brush to apply the foundation, I am not sure what type of coverage you would get with it though, and you probably would want to use another brush for your blush. :)
The bristles in the foundation brush just pick up more because they're slicker and closer together so yea you can use a blush brush. It might get ruined but you can use it.

I've found that the best brush to use for blush is an angled blush brush. It goes on much smoother and blends better for me. You can always tell that one apart from the rest. You can get them for a decent price at Sally's beauty supply.

Usually a powder brush has fewer bristles and is bigger while a blush brush has more bristles and is smaller in size.
You can use them both the blush brush for more powder coverage and the powder brush for a lighter coverage or color.Whats the difference between a blush brush and a powder brush?
no, just a powder brush is much softer and so may not brush on as much blusher as a blusher brush would have, blusher brushes are more coarse so that you can apply more blusher.
it won't matter at all, you may just need to apply two dustings!
xxx
a powder blush is fuller and rounder and a blush brush is angled
sometimes the blush brush makes streaks so i prefer the powder one

yes you can. You might also want to treat yourself to a good set of brushes. Its a great investment. You can get a great set for around $50 and have them delivered right to your door FOR FREE!
You should try getting a kabuki brush. It's a dense, short brush that spreads out powder or minerals evenly. You can find them everywhere, and they're resuable as well. A blush brush might go everywhere.
Of course, just make sure all of the blush is off of it before you use it for face powder though.
yeah i like brushes alot more than the pads that come with powder, they work great.
Absolutely!

stippling brushes are REALLY good for foundation, especially for the compact foundation. They could also be used for bronzers and blush but it has multipul purposes. Blush brushes really shouldnt be used for more than blush and bronzer. If youre looking for good brushes try www.coastalscents.com good cheap brushes. they have a weird scent when you get them so just wash them with a mild soap or a brush cleaner really well.Whats the difference between a Blush Brush and a Stiplling Brush?
